In 2005, a New Yorker named Extreme Gene took the skipping movement
to a whole new level when he created Extreme Skipping.
Extreme Gene's
skipping vision emphasized three main
aspects of exceptional skipping: rebellion,
freedom, and expression of style. His
extreme skipping video inspired extreme
skippers across the globe to start getting
their skip on too.
Today, a search
on You Tube yields over 200
extreme skipping videos with most done tongue in cheek. But one
Extreme Skipping group who call themselves
"Silly Boys Extreme Skipping"
stands out from the pack. So much so, that
they recently scored sponsorship so they could get
matching skipping uniforms. These guys are
rad.
You'll find mini-interviews
with the Silly Boys below...But
their skipping really speaks for itself.

Meet the Silly Boys of
Extreme Skipping!
Silly Boy Extreme Skipper Jordan -
Beverly Hills, CA
Jordon
never
wanted to grow up. His ideal dream was
much like the Never Neverland in Peter
Pan where aging just doesn't happen. With
that mentality he always
"skipped" to the beat of his own
drum. Then one day he saw a
video about a guy in Brooklyn who had
stumbled upon a new level of
enlightenment through "Extreme
Skipping." Jordon grabbed a
few of his buddies and soon they were
skipping everywhere they went and
having a blast while going there! He and
Howell decided it was time to share
with the world what they were doing too.
A video was made and a team was
born with the help of Travis that day.
Now having starred in five Silly
Boys videos he is the only member to have
appeared in all of the productions and
edits all the videos himself. He
feels that with each new skip he discovers
something about himself he didn't know
before and he won't stop until he has
discovered all of himself. If
that is even possible.
Silly Boy Glen Allen Burnett lives
in Aumsville, Oregon and has this to say
about skipping, "Every
time I skip, I
try to do something different and unique,
because that's how we (The Silly Boys) do.
There are no limits to skipping, there are
only limits on the fools trying to
duplicate what we do. Our name is The
Silly Boys, but in all reality, there is
nothing silly about our skipping.
Silly
Boy Mike "Da Mike" Howell says, " You see a
ledge, a park bench, or a stairwell, I see
the next hair-raising skunt (for the lay
person that means skip-stunt). You see a
park arbor, I see a way to plant my seed
in extreme skipping. A river dock? An
excuse to get soaked to the bone on my way
to the next level. For me, it's all about
going big or going home, bitches."
Silly Boy Dave Basarba
lives in Los Angeles, CA was raised in the wilds of
Portland, OR, where he first developed
his love for the outdoors, and the
active lifestyle of the Pacific
Northwest. Since his move to Los
Angeles, for musical reasons he'd rather
not speak about here, he had grown weary
from the urban jungle, until he met
Jordan in a sound studio in Hollywood.
It was at that moment - that
chance meeting - that sport came
flooding back into his life, after years
of training as an amateur soccer player.
Today, as an Extreme Skipping athlete,
he has been forced to quickly learn how
to deal with the rigors of stardom, and
therefore chooses to live outside of the
limelight as much as possible, in a
quaint Southern California village known
to locals as Los Angeles. Between
his work as a musician, Dave has skipped
with the team in two videos so far.
He and Jordan are based out of Los
Angeles, and work tirelessly to bring
Extreme Skipping to the masses in every
way they can.
Dave looks forward to the day when
Skipping might perhaps cover all the
expenses, and he can give up the
strenuous rock & roll lifestyle of
professional music."
