Kim “Skipper” Corbin created iSkip.com in May of 1999 and has been skipping ever since.
Her skipping journey has taken her from the mountaintop of an amazing amount of national media exposure to the valley of shattered dreams and back up the other side. She is a Senior Book Publicist at an amazing publishing company called New World Library and is scaling the wall of writing her own book. What a long strange skip it continues to be.
Contact Kim via email, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube, She’d love to hear from you.
Hi, I just recently moved from Austin to Chicago. Do you have any skipping groups or events planned in the Chicago area?
There aren’t any events currently planned in Chicago…but if you subscribe to our newsletter, you’ll be among the first to know if that changes!
Thanks, but iSkip is about skipping exclusively, so an article about spin classes really isn’t a fit.
Hi, Wow! I was sure nobody would be posting anything about adults skipping.
You’re right. I wanted to try it, but the fears were formidable. I couldn’t believe it.
But I went out at night, look both ways, then skipped like a 10-year-old. No more
than about 25 feet using way too much gusto. I did it.
Since turning 75 a couple of years ago, I got into electrics (Solowheel, Trikke, Zboard2).
They are great but not for exercise. I came across an article saved from many years ago
talking about the benefits of skipping. Since jogging is out, why not skipping?
I liked your video showing how to start slow. Last November, I started going to Planet Fitness M,W,F.
Now I’m going to start skipping Tue/Thu. Or more.
Weather here in WA state is a challenge but if I can use my electric toys, I can certainly skip.
You are an inspiration.
Thanks, Richard
I’m glad you’re no longer “skipping through the shards of your broken dreams” but that will still be one of my favorite lines ever written. Also, I bought some flexy cross trainer shoes today and can’t wait to try them at skipping!
Skip on Mona! 🙂
Hi, I recently tried to skip and to my disappointment found that I no longer new how to skip. I went on U-Tube to see if I could find some videos showing how to skip, that’s when I came across Dave’s video. I don’t know how to get it back. My brain just can’t figure out how to skip and I would like to get it back. Any advice?
Is there much activity going on now? Many of these posts are not recent.
Hi David…. We’re still skipping right along! The annual Austin Skipfest has been cancelled the past two years due to the pandemic, but there are still lots of joyful souls skipping out there every day. 🙂
